People Who Can Eat People Are the Luckiest People in the World <------ Click here to listen on BandCamp We open with lo-Fi folk punk, sardonic lyrics that are right on point with nihilism, absurd-ism, and existentialism. “Rejoice that you'll never make it out alive,” warbles out the voice akin to some of the whiniest country you have ever heard. People who can eat people are the luckiest people by AJJ formerly known as Andrew Jackson Jihad is an album that will get you singing along in no time. The lyrics are absurd, yet deep, in a sense asking those questions that many are afraid to ask such as “If a pregnant woman is decapitated will the baby survive?” The songs flow into one another as if you're in the studio with them while they are recording. The album itself feels like a person who is just gaining awareness and realizing the absurdity of existence. From the start it's cynical then as it gains consciousness it moves along into a more positive spin on the world. The instrumentals are a great juxtaposition to the dark and fatalistic lyrics. With a light folksy tone, a slight discordant yodeling, and the intimate sounds that all come together as a cohesive album. I give this album a five out of five. Go check it out on BandCamp by clicking the title.

Vampire Survivors is an indie game available on all platforms, and is a free roam, Pixel Art Roguelite with strong Castlevania vibes. There is no story, just walk around and see how long you can survive. This game is very addicting, to say the least, with it's very simple controls but very complex combo systems to evolve your weaponry. With each death, you can spend the gold you picked up to buy upgrades to make your next run easier, like Hades and other rogue lites. There is a vast arrangement of weapons, some pickups can give you more max health and as you progress, you unlock more characters. I suggest finding the hidden coffins on each map to unlock the other playable characters. The graphics choice was very well planned, as the entirety of me playing the game, I have had 0 issues with frame rates, clipping or anything like that. My only real complaint with this game is no multiplayer aspect, even if just adding split screen or even 2 player online mode. I feel like it would help up the difficulty, not that it needs it. Also, and I may be overlooking it honestly, as I've not fully finished the main 5 levels, just the 1st 3 unlocked so far, would be nice to know how to acquire the evolved weapons, because I've evolved my whip once and can't do it again. I give this game an overall Wumpa Fruit rating of 7/10 and that's because to me, this game needs a chaotic multiplayer mode, even if restricted to online. I definitely suggest giving it a try.

High on Life is the newest title brought to you by Rick & Morty / Solar Opposites creator, Justin Roiland and his game company, Squanch Games. it is available on Xbox and PC. I played on my Xbox One X for this review. It is a FPS action adventure with a wide variety of characters, some used multiple times, and plenty of easter eggs. First thing to know, there will be spoilers in this review, so if you don't want any, I would wait to read this. For those that don't mind spoilers, lets dive right on in. The first I noticed when loading up the game for the first time was that the graphics seemed a bit outdated, then you get hit with a demo sequence for "Buck Thunder 2 : Xenoslaughter" and I was like, "Okay, lets play some Buck Thunder." Soon as you load in, you hear that iconic Rick Sanchez voice giving you your tutorials in an old school, DOOM like game style. After blasting through some Bebop looking punk aliens, you hear another voice, and shortly after you finally get into the world of High on Life. Shortly after choosing your character, you venture outside of your house to find an alien overlord warp onto earth to start harvesting humans as drugs, yes, that's right folks, humans are drugs in this game. Alien overlord then warps off of earth and you meet your first Gatlien (the weapons of this game, all a gun but knifey, who is obviously a knife by his name), Kenny, who is voiced by Justin Roiland using his Morty Smith voice. Some baddies warp in and its time to get into the story some more. after a short brief with Kenny, you then warp your house to Blim City, this is your main hub for a while in the game, since it's where your house is. Shortly after arriving, you and Kenny meet with famed bounty hunter, Gene, who makes a deal with you. The deal is he will help you become a bounty hunter and take out the G3 (drug cartel) as long as he can shack up in your home. Lizzie, your sister is against this, but he is needed. There are 3 main planets, each with their own hidden loot boxes (forgot their actual name), easter eggs, and unique enemies. Your first world is a city like area, the other 2 worlds are a cowboy/western vibe, with a futuristic city underground and a tropical space jungle, you also get access to a human reservation later on (you get the ability to save trapped humans later on in game) and go back to earth for the final battle. There are 6 Gatliens in total: Kenny - pistol Gus - shotgun Sweezy - Halo Needler Creature - baby Meseeks launcher (trust me ) Lezduit - almost insta kill , only available during final mission/ bounty Knifey - knife There were some issues with long loading times, but I was playing on an older console so I can't subtract points for that, and nothing too game breaking. some characters lips would move, but no dialogue, or some characters wouldn't move into the right location and during a boss sequence, more like escape sequence with massive waves of enemies, the stuff I needed didn't load in. Easy fix, hit your start button and select last checkpoint. I found that this fixed any issue I had 100% of the time. There were some frame rate drops and stutters, but its launch week and I give games 6 months to fix any launch bugs, so that's not bad compared to other games. I would have to say my overall experience with this game was very enjoyable. I have not had this much fun with a game since the launch of Borderlands 2 and Pre-Sequel, and being a Rick & Morty fan truly helps. This is an adult/mature audience game, so don't play around your kids, but definitely give it a test run. I plan on playing it more to 100% complete it, and see what easter eggs we can find on our second playthrough. I give it a Wumpa Fruit Score of 9/10 I must also add that there are 4, yes 4, full length films you can watch in this game: Tammy and the Trex Demon Wind Vampire Hookers Blood Harvest Thank you for reading my review.
Written by - KrAzHtv ...For well over 25 years, Sonic the Hedgehog has been a household name and has had many adventures. I have been a fan since childhood and even love the not so great Sonic games, so my review may come off biased, but it's not and its my honest opinion. For this review, I played on an Xbox One X and had the deluxe edition DLC for my play-through. There will be spoilers!! The first icon you see is Dr. Egg-man, and he is leading the story's intro, then after his segment we see Tails, Amy and Sonic flying around until they get sucked into another dimension/cyber space. As soon as you land on the first mysterious island, you are prompted to go explore the land. This is when the game takes your classic 3D Sonic Adventure and turns it into Hedgehog of War, yes, it's funky open world, but zoned like Legends Arceus. There are 5 islands in which you unlock portals (cyber space/classic levels, fishing spots,) collect chaos emeralds, collect portal keys and portal gears to progress the story. This story gets deep, like no right to be as good as it was deep. The ending makes you feel for Egg-man, all I'm saying. Each area has its main boss aka Titans and then you obviously have mini bosses aka guardians. Each one has a unique move-set, but some are beefed up variants which is fine because each one still felt unique to me. There are also normal enemies across the map to help gain experience points. As stated above, you gain experience in this game. Your experience is used to buy/unlock skills to make Sonic's new fighting style even better than any previous entry in the franchise. You also collect attack and defense seeds to increase their levels, Kocos for Ring capacity and Speed upgrade. I suggest going speed first. I really don't have anything negative to say about this game other than the same broken rail system in another Sonic game, but this one made them not as broken. I cane across 0 frame rate drop, no glitches or bugs, and never had to restart from a save because of me getting stuck. I mentioned the fishing spots earlier, this brings in Big the Cat. You use fishing coins you find or earn to fish which either brings you a fish, or an easter egg of sorts. This game cured that itch for a flawless 3D Sonic game, so my overall Wumpa Fruit score for Sonic Frontiers is a 10/10!!! If you haven't, play this game or watch a stream of it because this is the Sonic we have begged for.
Written by - KrAzHtv I'm really trying to not be this guy lately but.... The "Resident Evil" Netflix series really was not for fans of "Resident Evil". "Constantin films" has been behind all the live action so far. There's nothing nostalgic about a rewrite and it has little to do with any actual call to action outside of what consumers want to hear. The new movie was better and the new movie was still more nostalgic than all the live action adaptions have been so far combined. In my opinion none of it was EVER for "fans of the game". They should see how, just making a loyal adaptation with a script that favors what actual fans have say about it does for metrics without seeming like they are trying to force an opinion of the art at the same time.
Now, the VFX in this show ARE good and so is production! I also think the monsters are really cool and do strive a bit to hit home with fans of the game but still W.S. Anderson's fan fiction is the best in that regard and as a stand alone movie if you can just set apart from the other story; it DOES become really visually appealing as the movies progress. They were also the best use of the "Real D 3D" system to date. the O.G. films are incredibly STRONG sci-fi horror adaptations that could just share a title in the same universe very easily. This was a another cash grab plain and simple in my eyes though and the campaign to make it sound like it was better than it really was, is just lying to push the results they want in spite of any real credibility or criticism and that's just how a lot of these companies have always been anyway. "What will people buy, fuck what they want. We'll make them want it." That is toxic to me in my very humble opinion. I'd not watch this show twice, still had it's moments so I'm not all bad and I would still rather it be it's own thing because with a different working title or making it in light of "outbreak" and making it a survivor story, I might have been sold differently and I could have a different opinion on what I watched. Making such crucial changes though will always create divides and put fans of the original art in a line of fire for judgment. That is not fan service at the end of the day and the actions of producers become selfish at that point. Again, just an opinion from another nobody floating on this mud ball of content. Until next time, JT. |
