People Who Can Eat People Are the Luckiest People in the World <------ Click here to listen on BandCamp We open with lo-Fi folk punk, sardonic lyrics that are right on point with nihilism, absurd-ism, and existentialism. “Rejoice that you'll never make it out alive,” warbles out the voice akin to some of the whiniest country you have ever heard. People who can eat people are the luckiest people by AJJ formerly known as Andrew Jackson Jihad is an album that will get you singing along in no time. The lyrics are absurd, yet deep, in a sense asking those questions that many are afraid to ask such as “If a pregnant woman is decapitated will the baby survive?” The songs flow into one another as if you're in the studio with them while they are recording. The album itself feels like a person who is just gaining awareness and realizing the absurdity of existence. From the start it's cynical then as it gains consciousness it moves along into a more positive spin on the world. The instrumentals are a great juxtaposition to the dark and fatalistic lyrics. With a light folksy tone, a slight discordant yodeling, and the intimate sounds that all come together as a cohesive album. I give this album a five out of five.
